For David Bennett and Daniela Mascetti, jewels are so much more than just ornaments. Their journey began with the creation of 'Understanding Jewellery,' an encyclopaedic jewel reference in the industry. At Kota, I spearheaded the transformation of their content into a paid digital platform, making their invaluable knowledge accessible online for the first time.
I crafted a user-friendly experience that simplified the navigation of dense book content while presenting beautiful full-screen imagery. Content was strategically organised into multiple chapters for easy consumption, enabling swift navigation to specific gemstones and time periods. Users could also save images for future reference, making it a valuable resource for educators and design schools. Leveraging Kota's premium branding, I incorporated refined UI elements that allowed the gemstone imagery to shine.
The resulting platform and subscription service not only showcased the new Understanding Jewellery brand but also provided a sophisticated digital home for their existing and future content.
