About

Wogan are an independent, family-run coffee company established in 1970 by the iconic bowler-hatted Mr. Wogan in Bristol. They needed fresh branding, packaging, a revamped website, and digital marketing strategy. My role in this project encompassed the entire process, from branding to packaging and website design.

The challenge was to create a brand identity that honoured their rich history and approachable personality while emphasising their commitment to sustainability and fair trade. Inspired by Mr. Wogan's distinctive bowler hat, I developed a sleek, iconographic reinterpretation of their founder. This vector graphic allowed me to preserve the essence of the original brand while elevating it to a modern, premium level. To accentuate their connection to green coffee beans, I employed a vibrant green colour palette. I expanded on this palette, drawing from various aspects of coffee production. This expansion allowed for coloured labels for their diverse coffee range and provided a clear colour-coding system for their website.

The new website simplified the navigation across their wide selection of coffee. The UX had to be split between B2B customers interested in bulk orders for cafes and shops, and B2C for consumers wanting their daily coffee fix. I also wanted to highlight Wogan's flexible subscription offer and entice users to easily sign up for the service, whether via the subscription page or directly from product pages. I also created a coffee quiz which allows users to easily tailor their coffee deliveries based on personal tastes.
